For Apple Pay and Google Pay payments, the last four digits displayed in the Dashboard come from the Device Primary Account Number (DPAN). This is a tokenized, device-specific number, not the customer’s actual card number, known as the Funding Primary Account Number (FPAN).
When refunding a digital wallet payment, always refund to the DPAN. The payment network automatically maps the DPAN back to the customer’s FPAN and ensures the funds are returned to the correct card.
You do not need the customer’s physical card details or FPAN to process the refund. If required, the customer can provide the last four digits of their DPAN, which are visible in their digital wallet app.
