Cards
When a card refund is authorized, it enters the clearing process, where the transaction is finalized and financial records are updated. This typically occurs on the same business day or the next business day.
Once cleared, the cardholder’s issuing bank processes the return of funds, which can take between 3 and 10 business days.
Alternative payment methods (APM)
Each APM has its refund processing timeline.
When an APM refund is requested, the APM evaluates the request and shares the outcome with Checkout.com. The refund status is then updated in the Dashboard accordingly.
If there are no technical issues, the APM may return the funds to the customer between 3 and 10 business days.
