Your Business Application Identifier (BAI) is assigned by the card scheme after you register for the Card Payouts service.
The BAI you're assigned depends on your line of business, and you can be assigned more than one BAI.

If your merchant account only has one BAI code, you don't need to provide this in your payout requests because Checkout.com populates it automatically.

If your merchant account has more than one BAI, you must provide the relevant BAI in the funds_transfer_type field.
