How to capture a payment

This article contains a video and step by step guide on how to capture a payment through the Checkout.com Dashboard.

00:05: status means that funds have been successfully moved from the customer to the

00:09: merchant. In a two-step payment process,

00:11: this follows the authorised stage, where funds were previously reserved or blocked.

00:17: Before you begin,

00:18: make sure you have your login credentials ready.

00:20: Enter them and then click continue.

00:24: On the left menu, click the payments tab on the business overview dashboard.

00:29: Now click on all payments to view the complete list of payment transactions

00:34: On the next page,

00:35: click the capture payment button to the right.

00:39: Click capture payment again to confirm and finalize

00:41: the capture of the authorized payment amount.

00:45: Refresh your window. Click on the drop down for the payment - to proceed

00:49: with the capture confirmation.

00:51: In the drop down, check the reason code to see if this was successful. Here,

00:55: the reason code 10000 confirms a successful capture.
