Closing Collateral Balance in Balance Report does not match reserve movements for the period

If the Closing Collateral Balance value in your Balance Report does not match reserve movements for the period, this is a temporary situation while your account is waiting to be migrated to Checkout.com's new reporting system. This issue will resolve as soon as the migration is complete.

The Balance Report data is accurate and you are not being charged twice.

For more information, see Changes to balances and reports.

Cause of the temporary mismatch

Bear in mind the difference between the following balances:

  • Pending balance – Funds from your most recent sales that are currently being processed.

  • Available balance – Funds from sales that are available to use.

The mismatch is caused by the timing when your reserve (collateral) is calculated and deducted and when this appears in the Balance Report.

  • New system logic – When the funds from a sale enter your Pending balance.

  • Old system logic – When the funds enter Available.

In short, the funds from Pending have already moved to your Collateral balance, but the report cannot display the deduction until the funds move to Available.

Once your account is migrated to the new system, your report will update in real time and the discrepancy will disappear.
