Identity Verification is designed to verify the identity of a new physical person applying to use your services, typically using their identity document and a video of their face. This helps you meet compliance requirements and reduce fraud risk for new users. Face Authentication, on the other hand, enables you to confirm that a person requesting to access your services or an account is the same person whose identity you have already successfully verified. It works by comparing the applicant's current facial biometrics to a previously verified video. In essence, Identity Verification establishes an identity, while Face Authentication re-confirms an established identity.
