Do I need a Spanish bank account to process Bizum payments?

Yes, merchants and customers must have a bank account with a participating Spanish or Andorran bank and a mobile phone number to process Bizum payments. The mobile phone number can be foreign provided it is linked to a Spanish or Andorran bank account.

This is because Bizum enables customers to make instant payments directly from their bank account (A2A), without the need for a credit or debit card.
