Only reserve or release funds when you receive one of the following webhooks:
- Authorization approved – If an authorization is approved and no subsequent reversal or expiry event occurs, you can reserve the customer’s funds.
- Reversal approved – If a reversal is issued (for example, an issuer reversal or a matching reversal), release the reserved funds or adjust the customer’s account balance accordingly.
Do not base your decision to reserve or release funds on the Authorization advice received webhook, which is for information only.
Authorization advices do not mean that you can reserve the funds, and reversal advices do not automatically release funds.
