Transaction declined with error code 40101

If you receive a response code 40101 - Risk blocked transaction, it could mean that the payment failed due to a security violation.

To find more information on why this might have happened, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to the Dashboard.
  2. Go to Payments > All payments.
  3. Identify and select the transaction that returned the error code.
  4. In the Payment timeline section, expand the Fraud Detection – Pre-auth – Checkout decline event to see the different assessments related to the transaction.
  5. For more information on the rule that triggered the response code, select View full assessment
