As part of our compliance efforts, Checkout.com may issue Requests for Information (RFIs) to gather additional details for verification. These RFIs help us adhere to global regulatory standards for merchants and customers.
Depending on the situation, Checkout.com may send the following types of RFIs:
1. RFIs related to checks against sanction lists
This request for information (RFI) is designed to help us ensure compliance with international regulations by checking transactions against global sanction lists. These lists contain individuals, organizations, or countries that are restricted due to activities such as terrorism or human rights violations. Payments will be paused until we obtain the necessary information.
When you may receive this RFI:
- If a transaction potentially involves a name, entity, or location on a global sanction list (or if insufficient information was provided to us).
What to expect:
- Information to help us verify the identity of your customer.

- If we detect an unexpected/unusual volume of transactions.
What to expect:
- Customer identification details
