Transaction screening process and Request for Information (RFI)

Every payout transaction goes through a comprehensive screening process to ensure compliance and security.

Screening outcomes

After screening, transactions will fall into two categories:

  1. Transaction screened and not alerted: The transaction proceeds without any issues.
  2. Transaction screened and alerted: The transaction triggers an alert and requires further action.

Handling alerted transactions

Checkout.com manages alerted transactions in one of two ways:

  • Automated review
    • Our systems use the data you provide, historical data, and complex algorithms to make automated decisions as often as possible. The more data you provide us, the more automated decisions we can make.
  • Manual review
    • Our Operations team manually reviews transactions that cannot be dismissed automatically.
    • During a manual review, an agent may manually dismiss the alert or request more information from the merchant by raising an RFI request.
